A visiting radiologist specializing in X-ray interpretation, is offering a reward of $5,000, no questions asked, for the return of his silver-coloured Eurocom laptop. It was stolen from room 416 in the Radisson Hotel Monday afternoon.

?I?m pretty desperate. There is 10 years of teaching material including lectures and PowerPoint presentations, as well as sensitive patient information on the hard drive,? said Dr. John Rawlinson.

?The computer is eight-years old and not worth more than $300, if that, but the files are very important to me and my clients,? said Rawlinson. He is from the Dundas area near Hamilton, and is working at the Larch Street X-Ray Clinic.

The doctor is not interested in any punishment for the person who took his laptop.

?Just call me at 674-2505 at the clinic or at 673-4884 between 5 and 9 pm or phone the Radisson Hotel.?

He would be happy just to have the information from the laptop.

?If the person really wants my laptop, the person could copy my files from the hard drive on to CDs which would only cost about $30. Then the person can arrange with me just to transfer the disks.?

Rawlinson says he has felt very secure in Sudbury before this incident. ?I enjoy coming up here every three or four months to help with patients and to train the 20 person staff here in the X-ray clinic.?
