A driver was charged Wednesday for driving past a stopped school bus with its overhead lights activated and stop arm extended.

GSPS Traffic Unit set up to observe the end of the school day drop-off of students on Paris Street near the four corners.

Police observed that the bus was stopped for approximately five seconds and was in the process of letting students off, when a driver passed the bus.

The driver was stopped, and reported not seeing the bus. The driver was given an opportunity to view the video of the incident but declined.

The driver was issued a $490 offence notice which carries six demerit points on conviction.
