A roadside check on the condition of a motorist who pulled over has led to impaired driving charges for a 33-year-old Greater Sudbury woman.
In a news release Monday, the Sudbury detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police said they stopped on the side of Highway 17 on Jan. 11, “to check on the well-being of a motorist.”
An investigation ensued and, as a result, a 33-year-old woman from Sudbury was arrested and charged with driving while having a blood alcohol content higher than the legal limit.
“The accused was issued a 90-day automatic drivers licence suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days,” the release said. “She was released on a promise to appear.”
The woman's first court date is Feb. 13 in Greater Sudbury.
