An elderly woman is in hospital following an accident in Hanmer Monday afternoon.
The woman?s vehicle collided with a southbound VIA passenger train on route to Toronto.
No train passengers were injured.
The police investigation is continuing to establish if the railroad safety lights were operational and activated at the time of the accident.
The woman was airlifted to St. Joseph?s Health Centre where she is listed in critical condition at Northern Life press deadline.
