Dennis Paul Haines, the man who escaped police custody at the courthouse Monday, is back behind bars today after being found and arrested at a Davidson St. residence Tuesday at 4:30 pm.
Haines was arrested without incident and now stands accused of escaping lawful custody, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Two suspects at large after driving stolen car
A car reported stolen in Orillia was discovered in Greater Sudbury Tuesday as police attempted to perform a routine traffic stop on Lasalle Blvd.
When the car refused to stop, police followed the stolen vehicle to Gary Ave. where two suspects abandoned the car and fled on foot. A police dog was brought to the scene to track the suspects, but was unsuccessful.
The suspects were driving a tan coloured Honda Civic.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
Drunk driver collides with Wahnapitae house
A 55-year-old Wahnapitae man was arrested and charged with impaired driving Tuesday after he allegedly drove his vehicle into a residence on Savard St.
The vehicle ended up halfway lodged in a residence with extensive damage to the house and the car. There were no injuries.
