Fight at Espanola boat launch leads to charges of mischief and uttering threats

A conflict arising from two different groups trying to use the same boat launch in Espanola has resulted in charges against a 26-year-old Sudbury man.

Provincial police said officers attended a complaint of mischief at a boat launch on Portage Road off Espanola Bay (Agnew Lake), in Baldwin Township.

Police said a dispute between two separate groups of people using the same boat launch led to damage to a motor vehicle.   

The suspect is charged with uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm and mischief - destroy or damage property. 

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 30 in Espanola.
