The former owner of a blues bar and deli, who has spent much of the past five years behind bars, is on trial again for drug trafficking.

George Mastorakis, 60, has pleaded not guilty to numerous drug trafficking charges after Greater Sudbury Police searched his Lonsdale Avenue home in early January last year.

Police seized drugs with an estimated street value of $22,000, almost $1,200 in cash and stolen merchandise.

Police also found stolen property at a hock shop owned by Mastorakis three days after they raided his home.

Mastorakis had been released on federal parole for drug charges at the time he was arrested in this incident.

The trial is expected to last all week.
