A senior from French River is dead after a boating accident on Lower Sturgeon Lake in French River this past weekend.
The Noelville OPP was notified of a possible drowning in the area at around 3:42 p.m. on Oct. 15. Upon police arrival, one man was located on shore without any vital signs. Joceyln Michaud, 69, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation revealed two men were fishing in a small boat when it capsized, sending them both in the water. The victim was not wearing a lifejacket or PFD at the time of the incident.
