A female minor testified Tuesday a Sudbury man repeatedly sexually abused her almost daily over a two-week period last fall.

Marc Teahan, 37, pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual assault, one count of inviting sexual touching and one count of sexual touching at the Sudbury Courthouse.

Justice Louise Gauthier of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice ordered a publication ban on any evidence which could lead to the identity of the young girl, who is now a senior elementary school student.

The girl testified Teahan asked her to undress down to her underwear on several occasions. She complied after he convinced her "it was normal" and there was nothing wrong with it, she testified.

On a few occasions she was naked, but during most incidents she was wearing her underwear, said the young girl.

Under cross-examination, the girl agreed she told a preliminary hearing the incidents occurred during the last week of September 2000 and first week of October.

When defence counsel Donald Plaunt suggested Teahan was working outside of Sudbury during those two weeks the girl said she believed she had the dates right, but some of the incidents could have taken place sooner.

Teahan's trial is scheduled to continue today and Thursday.
