During the execution of an arrest warrant for a local man, police discovered a marijuana grow operation inside a home located at 616 The Kingsway.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, members of the joint forces team confiscated 42 pot plants, 211 seedlings, and 1,430 grams of shake with a combined street value of close to $45,000. Around $10,000 worth of equipment was also taken from the home.
A 45-year-old man and 42-year-old woman, both from Sudbury, were charged with numerous drug violations including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance.
