GSPS arrest man suspected in 13 break and enters

Sudbury man, 37, facing 31 charges for robberies at commercial locations across the city

Greater Sudbury Police have arrested a Sudbury man who now faces 31 charges, including 13 counts of breaking and entering.

Police allege the accused is responsible for committing numerous break-and-enter thefts at commercial locations across the city, including in New Sudbury, Minnow Lake, downtown and the West End.

“Detectives from the Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit of the Integrated Crime Section in our Criminal Investigation Division connected him to 13 active break and enter investigations spanning over a three-month period,” GSPS alleges.

The 37-year-old man was arrested Jan. 23. The break and enters began in October, 2022, and continued to January, 2023.

The man is charged with 31 Criminal Code offences:

  • Break and Enter x13;
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x13;
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and; 
  • Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime x4.

The man attended bail court on Jan. 25.
