Greater Sudbury Police are looking for two suspects related to a shooting that occurred at the corner of Lasalle Boulevard and Notre Dame Avenue Friday, Feb. 28, around 11:45 p.m.

According to police, two vehicles pulled up beside each other at the corner and a verbal interaction took place. At which point, the rear driver's side passenger pulled out a handgun and began firing multiple rounds at the victim's vehicle.

The supposed victim and four passengers drove away without injury, said police in a press release, while the suspect vehicle fled in another direction.

Uniformed officers attended the scene alongside forensic officers, who confirmed the incident was a shooting, evident by the bullet casing and damage to the victim's vehicle.

There is said to be no threat to public safety, as the incident is believed to be a targeted and isolated incident resulting in a prior, existing relationship between the suspect and victim.

The suspect vehicle and two passengers have yet to be located.

The driver is described as a dark-skinned man, between 30-40 years of age, with short hair, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incident. His passenger and accused shooter is described as a light-skinned black man, with braided hair, wearing a dark coloured toque.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a small, four-door black car, possibly a Hyundai. The firearm is believed to be a black Glock-style semi-automatic handgun, similar to that used by police. Brass 9 mm luger bullet casings were located at the scene.

Anyone who believes to have located the suspects or their vehicle is asked to avoid them and contact the police immediately.

Those with information relating to the incident are encouraged to contact Greater Sudbury Police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477
