Update: Man wanted for indecent exposure in custody

Man facing several charges including nudity and causing a public disturbance

Updated Sept. 12 at 2:10 p.m.: Greater Sudbury Police have advised that the man they were searching for allegedly exposing himself to people in the area of Leslie Street earlier this month has been found and arrested.

The man has been charged with committing an indecent act, nudity and causing a public disturbance.

Original story: Greater Sudbury Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the man involved in an indecent act in the area of Leslie Street in Greater Sudbury on September 5. 

Information provided was that the man had been seen exposing himself while walking along the sidewalk.

The man is described as white, 30 to 40 years old, with short dark hair (balding on top) and a beard. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black gym shorts, flip flops and sunglasses at the time of the incident. 

It has not been reported that the man is aggressive; however, GSPS has offered the following safety tips for community members to keep in mind:

• Walk with a partner or in a group, especially at night

• Tell someone where you are going and when you’re expected to return

• Always carry a fully charged cell phone

• If you feel you are in danger or threatened by someone, call police immediately and provide as much information as possible regarding physical and clothing descriptors.
