A hearing for a truck driver facing charges of bad driving that resulted in the death of a Sudbury woman and her sons two years ago continued Tuesday at the Sudbury courthouse.

The hearing against Michael J. Hickey, who has been charged with three counts of criminal negligence causing death, started in May. Hickey, 44, was charged last year following the accident that claimed the life of Kelly Henderson and her sons Jordin and Corbin, age 12. The accident took place on Highway 69 near the Killarney highway turnoff on Aug. 7, 2002.

The charges against Hickey were filed following a lengthy investigation by police.

Several more witnesses have to be called and it?s expected the preliminary hearing will still take some time to conclude. The hearing was adjourned Thursday after a key witness could not make it to court.

A judge will determine at the end of the hearing if there?s sufficient evidence for the charges to proceed to trial.
