Updated: Man arrested for assault with a knife in the Donovan

There is currently a heavy police presence on Morin Street in the Donovan after GSPS received a report of an assault with a knife on Kathleen Street.

Greater Sudbury Police arrested and charged a 26-year-old man on King Street Friday, after a supposed incident of assault against a woman on Kathleen Street.

This is said by Police to have been an isolated and targeted incident as the individuals are known to each other.

There is believed to be no threat to the general public.

There is currently a heavy police presence on Morin Street in the Donovan after GSPS received a report of an assault with a knife on Kathleen Street.

The incident is believed to have involved a man and a woman.  The man fled the scene on foot. The woman is safe at this time with minor injuries.

Greater Sudbury Police K9 and tactical units are en route and a track will be conducted.

Residents are asked to avoid the area at this time.
