Hit and run leaves part of Hanmer without power

A hit and run at 10 pm Wednesday night at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre left some residents without power for two hours.

According to Greater Sudbury Staff Sergeant Dave Treitz, a Â?dark colouredÂ? pickup truck was seen travelling through the mallÂ?s parking lot.

The truck collided with a hydro pole, then fled the scene.

Residents in the Elmview Drive area lost power for about two hours until hydro crews cleaned up the scene.

Anyone with information that could help police indentify either the driver or the vehicle is urgfed to phone police, specifically the traffic branch, at 675-9171, ext. 2208 or 2210.
