Human remains have been found in a wooded area on the Mississauga First Nation near Blind River.

East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the East Algoma Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services responded to the call on June 24 shortly after 5 p.m.

The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS) in Sudbury where a forensic post-mortem examination will be completed on June 28.

The OPP continue to investigate.
