Update: Human remains found near Mattawa ID'd as missing man

Updated June 10 at 10:35 a.m.: The human remains found just off Highway 17 near Mattawa have been identified as a man who had been missing since June 1.

The remains were found by North Bay OPP officers in the late afternoon on June 7, near Highway 630 in Calvin Township.

The body has been identified as being those of Jeremiah Clark, 34, who was declared missing on June 1.

A post-mortem exam on Clark's remains will be performed tomorrow in Sudbury.

The North Bay OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate.

The North Bay OPP located human remains on Hwy 17 Friday around 3:15 p.m., near Hwy 630 in Calvin Township.

The roadway was closed for approximately one hour yesterday, while officers conducted their analysis of the scene. 

The North Bay OPP Crime Unit will be continuing their investigation, with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services and the OPP Remote Piloted Air System.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
