A Sudbury resident is facing four charges after police allege they drove drunk and caused a collision.

On April 30 just before 5:30 p.m., Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Greater Sudbury.

Nobody was injured in the collision, OPP said, but one of the drivers was arrested under suspicion of being impaired and transported to the Sudbury detachment for further testing.

As a result, the 30-year-old Sudbury resident was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Careless driving

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 10 in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
