Updated: Sudbury police looking for cube van driver who caused this morning's Elm St. collision

Greater Sudbury Police are asking for the public's assistance to locate the driver of a cube van who was involved in this collision, and left the scene. Both vehicles were travelling west on Elm Street when the van allegedly cut off a black sedan, causing the driver to swerve into a snowbank. There were no injuries.

The roadway is now opened in both directions, Greater Sudbury Police tweeted at 7:52 a.m.

There's been a collision at Elm Street and Beatty Street, Greater Sudbury Police reported in a tweet at 7:07 a.m. Thursday morning.

Police said in an update at 7:23 a.m. that both the westbound and eastbound lanes at the intersection are closed for vehicle removal.

Earlier, traffic was being directed by police. Motorists are told to expect delays until the vehicles are removed.
