An accident on Regent Street yesterday resulted in the death in one man and closed the southbound side of road for most of the afternoon.

At around 9:05 am, a red pickup truck and grey car collided on Regent at Bouchard Street, sending the truck flying into a rock embankment. The elderly man driving the truck was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. The lone occupant of the car wasnÂ?t hurt.
The Traffic Management division of the Greater Sudbury Police Services is looking for witness to the accident. The investigation is continuing as police try to reconstruct the scene.
Further information will be released once the deceased manÂ?s family is contacted, an autopsy in conducted and witnesses are interviewed.
