Sudbury Public Library has copies of a controversial new book about Karla Homolka, the woman serving time for her role in the murder of two southern Ontario high school girls.

A spokesperson for the library said there are 14 copies in the library system, and they are already being circulated.

The book, Karla: A Pact with the Devil by Stephen Williams, has drawn widespread criticism and condemnation because of its subject matter.

The mother of one of the young girls, Donna French, told Canadian Press, ?This latest development has caused further pain to her family.?
Members of French?s family live in Capreol.

The girls? families want bookstores and libraries to remove the book from the shelves. The book is available at Chapters in Sudbury, and there are no plans to stop selling it.

There is speculation Homolka, ex-wife of Paul Bernardo, may have profited from speaking to the author and jeopardized her deal with the Crown.
