Three children are responsible for vandalizing buses at the Northway Bus Lines depot in Capreol, say Greater Sudbury Police.

Police were called out to the depot Dec. 4 at 12:45 p.m. after an employee with the bus service found a youth inside one of the buses.

Officers learned four buses had been vandalized overnight and that several other buses had been damaged over the past two weeks. Damage included several broken windows and fire extinguishers being deployed.

After an “extensive investigation,” police were able to determine that three children aged eight, nine and 10 were responsible for the damage.

Damage is estimated at $3,000.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the children can't be charged, as they're too young.
