A search warrant executed by Greater Sudbury Police at a residence on Leslie Street turned up cocaine and fentanyl, and led to the arrests of three people.
The Feb. 11 warrant was executed by the GSPS Emergency Response Unit, based on an investigation by the GSPS Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).
GSPS said the search turned up 79 grams of cocaine, 33 grams of fentanyl and approximately $1,000 in Canadian currency. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $12,000.
Charges have been laid against a 46-year-old Greater Sudbury man, a 28-year-old Southern Ontario man and a 16-year-old young offender from Southern Ontario.
Each is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Fentanyl
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The 16-year-old was released on an undertaking to await a future court date. The two other men were held in custody pending a Feb. 11 date in bail court. Their names cannot be released at this time as the information has not yet been sworn to through the court process.
