Greater Sudbury police have a 17-year-old in custody today, believing the teen to be responsible for a number of break and enter thefts in the New Sudbury area in the past week.
While responding to a 3 am break-in on Graywood St., where the residents woke to find the intruder fleeing the scene after being scared off by the family dog, police received a second report about a potential break-in on Lansing Ave.
When police arrived, they discovered a teen inside the garage with a two-foot-long machete. The boy was arrested without incident and has been charged with three counts of break and enter and theft, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The culprit is also being investigated for a number of break and enters in the past week where people woke to find an intruder in the house.
