Man busted for B and E's

An arrest was made last week in connection with a string of break and enters dating back to November 1998. Twenty-eight of the incidents occurred in the former city limits, six in Blind River, two in Alban, two in Parry Sound and one in Markstay.
An arrest was made last week in connection with a string of break and enters dating back to November 1998.

Twenty-eight of the incidents occurred in the former city limits, six in Blind River, two in Alban, two in Parry Sound and one in Markstay.

The break and enters took place at retail sales outlets and business offices including three Canada Post locations and the Sudbury office of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The value of the property taken from the locations is estimated at in excess of $185,000 and largely consisted of electronic equipment and cash.

Investigators have recovered about $34,000 worth of the items stolen.

Robert Cole, age 23, of Sudbury, has been charged with 36 counts of break and enter, 10 counts of possession of stolen property, one count of arson and one count of mischief as well as 26 counts of breach of recognizance.

Cole has been in custody since February of last year on other matters.
