Man fatally stabbed, two others injured at incident on the Kingsway

Police have arrested and charged one man with murder

One man was killed and two others were injured after a 21-year-old man with a knife stabbed all three of them at a social gathering on the Kingsway near Levesque Street.

One man was killed and two others were injured after a 21-year-old man with a knife stabbed all three of them at a social gathering on the Kingsway near Levesque Street.

At approximately 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 at a large social gathering, three people sustained varying degrees of stab wounds.

As a result, a 27 year old man succumbed to his knife wound and the other two victims were transported to Health Sciences North Hospital for treatment and both were subsequently released.

The Greater Sudbury Police Criminal Investigations Division assisted by the Integrated Crime Team, Tactical Team and Uniform officers continues with the investigation.

Greater Sudbury Police arrested a 21-year-old man in the area and charged him with murder. This incident wasn’t a random act and there is no threat to the public.

There were approximately 50 or more people at the location of this crime and the Greater Sudbury Police wants any person who was in attendance of this homicide to contact them with any information they may have to assist in the investigation.
