A 32-year-old man remains in hospital in critical condition after being assaulted by a group of men behind Pizza Pizza late Friday night.

Greater Sudbury Police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn says that police are still seeking information from the public in relation to this incident and the investigation is ongoing.

A 32-year-old man was viciously assaulted in the area behind Pizza Pizza on Elm Street in the city's downtown late Friday night.

The victim was rushed to hospital and remains in critical condition.

It has been reported that numerous other unknown males are responsible for the attack.

Greater Sudbury Police Criminal Investigations Investigators are seeking video surveillance footage or eye witness testimony from anyone living or working in the area or from anyone who witnessed the attack.

The motive for the attack is unknown at this time.
