Update: Man, 33, in hospital with 'serious' injuries after Morin Ave. assault

Updated at 10:27 a.m.: The 33-year-old man injured in an early morning assault on Morin Avenue was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

He remains in hospital. 

A tweet from GSPS suggests multiple attackers may have been involved.

Police are hoping a witness will come forward with information or that a resident in the area has video surveillance that might have captured the assault.

Greater Sudbury Police say there was a “serious assault” on Morin Street in the Flour Mill area of the city early this morning.

In a tweet issued at 8:17 a.m., police say one man was sent to Health Sciences North. A K9 track was conducted in the area.

The incident is under investigation by Greater Sudbury Police's Criminal Investigations Division.

No further information was provided by police.
