Markstay-Warren resident arrested, charged after Thursday disturbance

On Thursday, June 6 at approximately 6 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police Nipissing West, Warren Detachment responded to a disturbance involving a subject making threats in the Municipality of Markstay-Warren. 

The Sudbury OPP Crime Unit investigating the incident have charged a 58-year-old resident from Markstay-Warren, with:

  • Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC);
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the CC; and
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to section 88 of the CC.

The accused is being held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on June 7.
