Lionel and Judy Courtemanche remain in hospital after a serious accident at Godfrey Drive and Highway 144 Saturday.

Mayor Dave CourtemancheÂ?s parents are Â?doing quite wellÂ? according to a family member.

Judy underwent surgery at St. JosephÂ?s Health Centre to have pins installed in her broken arm Monday.

Lionel suffered a broken hip described as a seatbelt injury by the family member.

Both are coping well, are alert and remember everything from the accident.

In fact, the family member said, Lionel has said he isnÂ?t feeling much pain.

Judy may be released today, and Lionel could be home by the end of the week.

All four people involved in the collision were transported to St. JosephÂ?s with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, at about 10:30 pm the CourtemancheÂ?s mini-van lost control, crossed the centre line and collided with a vehicle headed in the opposite direction.

Few details were immediately available about the accident, and police are looking for witnesses.

According to the police serviceÂ?s traffic division, the officers investigating have been off for a couple days.

The Courtemanches had to be extricated by fire services.

Police urge witnesses to phone the Traffic Management Unit at 675-9171 Ext. 2208.
