After investigating incidents where vehicles were struck by ice and snow flying off others on the road, the Ontario Provincial Police are warning motorists to clean off their vehicles before driving or face a $110 fine.

In one incident, a female driver received facial injuries after her windshield was smashed by a piece of ice that flew from another vehicle.

The Highway Traffic Act states that drivers must have a clear view of the front, sides and rear of the vehicle. Drivers should wipe away snow and ice from mirrors, lights and the roof of the car.
