New badges at Sudbury Police

Some new faces were introduced to the Sudbury Police Board this week.

Joining the service are Const. John Coluzzi, Const. Ronald Daoust, Const. Curtis Freeman, Const. Darryl Grisdale and Const. Michael Robinson, who just completed constable training at Ontario Police College.

Some more veteran members were recognized for achievements at the board meeting this week.

Const. Randy Hosken was presented with Canada?s Peacekeeping Service Medal by Chief McCauley.

Prior to joining the civilian policing profession in October of 1999 Hosken was a military policeman and served with NATO in Bosnia.

Const. Scott Kirkwood was singled for a special award from the Ontario Crime Control Commission for his contribution to the Police, Law and Youth (PLAY) program as well as the Values Influences and Peers (VIP) program, Neighbourhood Watch, Drug Awareness and the Youth Co-ed Slo-pitch Challenge.

School liaison officer Denise Fraser has also invested a lot of time with young people and was recognized with a Mayor and Council?s Children First Roundtable ?Putting Children First? award.
