Nipissing West OPP respond to four domestic incidents in one week

The OPP Nipissing West Detachments have investigated four domestic related incidents over the past week.

On July 17, at approximately 1 p.m., the OPP responded to a complaint of an historical assault in Sturgeon Falls.  As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old mam from Sturgeon Falls was charged with Assault - Spousal.

On July 20, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the OPP responded to a complaint of an assault in Cartier.  As a result of the investigation, a 53-year-old man from Cartier was charged with two counts of Assault - Spousal.

On July 21, at around 10:30 a.m., the OPP responded to a domestic disturbance in Cache Bay. The male suspect was not located. Therefore, officers are seeking an arrest warrant for charges of: Mischief - Domestic, Mischief Under $5,000, Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge and Dangerous Driving.

On July 23, at approximately 2:50 p.m., the OPP responded to a complaint of an assault in Cartier Township.  As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old man from Onaping Falls was charged with Assault - Spousal, Forcible Confinement and Breach of Recognizance.

The OPP will not be releasing the names of accused persons in order to protect the identity of the victim.    

"Victims in abusive relationships/mischiefs are not alone," said the Nipissing West OPP in a news release.
