No drunk drivers caught at Sept. 24 RIDE check

While a suspended driver was caught behind the wheel at a RIDE check Sept. 24, and two breath tests were administered, no one was charged with impaired driving, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

A total of 226 drivers were checked after police set up their checks on Frood Road at Burton, Hanna Street at Dennie Street in Capreol, Garson Coniston Road, Falconbridge Road at Auger and Ste. Anne's Road.

Seven Highway Traffic Act offences were handed out, which include careless driving, speeding and document infractions.

“There are always options to get home after consuming alcohol,” said Greater Sudbury Police Service in a news release. “Don't drink and drive.”
