Bob Smellie was missing for a little more than three days when police found his truck early April 16, before finding the 65-year-old man deceased later that morning.

The Noelville OPP has said that no foul play is suspected in the man's death and his wife Katie believes them.

“In the end I think the police did a good job,” said Katie.

Bob was last seen in the morning on April 12 in St. Charles, before he drove to North Bay for an appointment at the hospital.

He was planning to sell his truck during the trip as well.

When Katie didn't hear from Bob she became worried and contacted the Noelville OPP.

“The police came and took down information, they contacted the hospital and the guys he was supposed to be selling the truck to,” said Katie.

At 3 a.m. on April 16, Katie got a knock on her door from the OPP, who let her know that Bob's truck had been found near Pike Lake. A little more than three hours later the police showed up again, this time to inform Katie that her husband had been found deceased.

The West Nipissing Police Service has corroborated the information released by the Noelville OPP Detachment, where 65-year-old Bob Smellie had been found deceased within the Municipality of West Nipissing.

The West Nipissing Police Service is currently investigating the circumstance of his death, at which time, foul play is not suspected.

A post mortem is scheduled for Monday April 18.
