Numerous charges laid against home invasion suspects

Greater Sudbury Police Service laid numerous charges against the two men arrested Aug. 20 for a home invasion on Charlotte Street.

A 21-year-old man is charged with break, enter and theft, robbery using a firearm, disguise with intent, point firearm, possession of weapons dangerous, possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).

An 18-year-old man is charged with break, enter and theft, robbery using a firearm, disguise with intent, point firearm, possession of weapons dangerous, possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Two men were arrested Aug. 20 following a home invasion on Charlotte Street, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

The suspects entered the home at about 11 a.m., assaulted the tenant, stole personal items, then left in a vehicle.

Initial information from witnesses said the suspects had a firearm.

The victim was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

Police found the suspect vehicle on Montague Street at about 11:30 a.m. Two men, one 18 years old, the other 20 years old, were arrested a short time later.

The investigation is ongoing.
