One dead in four-vehicle Hwy. 17 collision

One person has died after a collision involving four motor vehicles on Highway 17 in the West Nipissing area Tuesday evening.

Emergency responders were called out to the scene shortly before 5:30 p.m. April 11.

A 61-year-old West Nipissing resident was transported to the local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later died from their injuries.

There were no other injuries as a result of the collision.

The highway was closed in both directions for more than six hours.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team (T.I.M.E.) attended the scene and continue to assist with the investigation, which is still ongoing.
