Another person has died on a Northern Ontario highway, said the Ontario Provincial Police.

A two-vehicle crash on Highway 17 about four kilometres west of North Bay involved an eastbound car with two occupants and a westbound pick-up truck with one occupant.

A person in the car has been killed, while the second occupant has been taken to hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the OPP Forensic Identification unit, as well as members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigations unit are on scene.

Furthers details of the investigation, as well as identification of the deceased, will be made available tomorrow morning; pending next-of-kin notification, said the OPP.

Highway 17 was closed between North Bay and Sturgeon Falls, but the eastbound lane is now open. A detour is available via Highway 64 between Sturgeon Falls and Highway 11 North.
