One dead in two-vehicle collision

One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision Feb. 23 on the city’s Lasalle Extension, between Frood Road and Municipal Road 35. In a release, Greater Sudbury Police said an eastbound car and a westbound SUV collided around 8:40 p.m.

In a release, Greater Sudbury Police said an eastbound car and a westbound SUV collided around 8:40 p.m. The 22-year-old driver of the car died as a result of his injuries. His name has not been released.

“All three ... were transported to HSN for treatment,” the police statement said. “The 57-year-old male driver of the SUV and his 49-year-old female passenger received serious but non-life threatening injuries.”

Officers from the Traffic Management Unit were still on scene investigating the collision late Saturday evening. The LaSalle Extension between Frood Road and M.R. 35 remained closed to traffic.
