One person charged in Sturgeon Falls drug investigation

On May 10 at 12 p.m. members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation on Michaud Street in the Municipality of West Nipissing (Sturgeon Falls).

Officers seized a quantity of drugs suspected to be Fentanyl. The street value of the drugs is approximately $660.

As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old person from West Nipissing, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - other drugs.

The accused was released by way of an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Sept. 3 in West Nipissing.
