OPP charge Blind River man with domestic assault

On March 16, shortly after midnight members of the East Algoma OPP responded to domestic dispute at a residence on Nadon Street in the Town of Blind River.  
Investigation determined that a male entered his ex-girlfriend's residence through a window and would not leave. The male left prior to police arrival.

Police learned on two separate occasions within the past three months, the male had punched holes in the residence and had physically assaulted her twice.

The male was later located and arrested.

As a result, a 21-year-old man from Blind River faces the following charges:

  • Forcible Entry, contrary to section 72(1) of the Criminal Code (CC); 
  • Two counts of spousal assault, contrary to section 266 of the CC; 
  • Mischief (Spousal), contrary to section 430(4) of the CC; and 
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1). 

The man appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Friday.
