Original story:

The Sudbury OPP detachment is seeking the public’s help in finding the driver of a minivan that struck a pedestrian at Highway 144 and Edward Avenue in Chelmsford last week.

On May 25 at 2:27 p.m. Sudbury OPP received a complaint that the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian had failed to remain at the scene of the collision.

Police report the pedestrian was struck while crossing the highway, suffering minor injuries.

The vehicle responsible is described as a light blue minivan with a cracked windshield, OPP said. The pedestrian described the driver as a man aged 40-50, with grey hair and a grey beard.

Police said the driver actually spoke briefly with the pedestrian before leaving the scene.

Police are asking for public assistance to identify the light blue minivan and its driver. OPP would also like to speak to any witnesses who may have seen this vehicle before or after the collision.
