A 46-year-old Greater Sudbury man is facing charges after he was pulled over by the Sudbury detatchment of the Ontario Provincial Police.

The incident took place during spotchecks New Year's Eve, when roadside officers noticed a vehicle with expired licence plate stickers.

“Upon further investigation, police determined that the driver's licence was suspended,” the OPP said in a news release Monday.

The man was charged with driving while under license suspension and driving without up-to-date license plate stickers.

The driver is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on Jan. 28.
