OPP searching for driver who left scene of collision

Sudbury OPP are seeking the assistance of the public in locating a driver who side swiped an oncoming vehicle on Highway 17 and left the scene of the collision. (File photo)

On June 24, 2017 at around 4 p.m. the Warren and Sudbury OPP were advised of a fail to remain collision that occurred on Highway 17 near Deer Lake Road in the Municipality of West Nipissing.

A brown GMC Sierra was travelling eastbound on the highway when a westbound black Mitsubishi Lancer entered the eastbound lane. The driver of the GMC took evasive actions but the vehicles side swiped each other.

The Mitsubishi failed to stop at the scene and continued westbound at a high rate of speed. The driver's side mirror from the Mitsubishi was located at the scene.

The OPP are looking for the driver of the black Mitsubishi Lancer.
