OPP: Sturgeon Falls man kills roommate’s kitten during heated argument

A 40-year-old from Sturgeon Falls is charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly killed his roommate’s kitten during an argument.

The Ontario Provincial Police responded to the call on Aug. 20 at 6 a.m. The OPP said two people got into a verbal argument, and one of the people killed their roommate’s kitten and left the scene.

The man is charged with killing or injuring animals, and two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (methamphetamine and other drugs). He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 1 in Sturgeon Falls.
