OPP support regulating security firms

The Ontario Provincial Police Association (OPPA) is applauding the move by the McGuinty government to improve the quality of services provided by private investigators, bouncers, bodyguards and security guard companies.

The Ontario Provincial Police Association (OPPA) is applauding the move by the McGuinty government to improve the quality of services provided by private investigators, bouncers, bodyguards and security guard companies.

The OPPA says it supports the changes to the Private Security and Investigative Services Act introduced by Minister of Community Safety Monte Kwinter because they will set appropriate standards for private security services, many of which until now have been largely unregulated.
