OPP suspect hit and run after body found on Hwy 6 in Espanola

Called out to a report of a person walking on the highway, officers instead came upon a body; OPP now searching for vehicle

 Manitoulin OPP are looking for the public’s help after finding a body on the south lane of Highway 6 in Espanola early Saturday morning.

Police said officers were called out to a report of a person walking on the roadway on Highway 6, north of the bridge over the Spanish River, at around 12:49 a.m. on June 12.

By the time officers arrived, however, the person was dead, police said, and the body was lying on the highway.

The OPP's North East Region Traffic Management Enforcement (TIME) Team, including a Technical Collision Investigator (TCI) and a Reconstructionist, are assisting with this investigation under the direction of the OPP's Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). The Office of the Chief Coroner - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-FPS) is also assisting. 

OPP are hoping the public can offer assistance in locating the vehicle they believe is involved in this incident. Because of the nature of the incident, no description of the vehicle is available.
