Pair of trespassing drug dealers caught with $10K worth of substances

Homeowner complained about trespassers in lower unit of home, and when police arrived to remove them, they found illicit substances and replica handguns

Greater Sudbury Police say drug dealers who were trespassing at a Whittaker Street property were caught with more than $10,000 worth of drugs April 24. 

Officers were dispatched to a home on Whittaker Street in relation to unwanted persons inside the residence just before 4:15 p.m.

Information provided to police was that individuals were unlawfully present in the lower unit of the residence and the homeowner wanted them removed.

Officers arrived on scene and were given permission by the homeowner to enter the lower unit, as the individuals inside were trespassing.

While speaking with the individuals, officers saw illicit drugs and drug packaging materials in plain sight. The two individuals were placed under arrest. While clearing the unit, officers located multiple replica handguns, additional drugs and cash.

In total, officers located and seized more than 84 grams of Cocaine, 60 grams of Crack, more than $9,000 in cash, five replica guns, drug packaging materials and numerous cellphones. The estimated street value of the drugs is $10,600.

A 31-year-old woman has been charged with the following offences:

• Personation with Intent (providing false identification to officers)

• Obstruct Peace Officer

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

A 53-year-old man has been charged with the following offences:

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

Both individuals were held in police custody overnight and will attend bail court today, April 25, to answer to the charges.
