Multi-vehicle collision closed busy roadway Tuesday

The roadway is now clear, Greater Sudbury Police said Tuesday afternoon.

Paris Street remains closed after a multi-vehicle collision Tuesday morning.

Motorists traveling from the downtown will be re-routed down York Street, while drivers coming towards the downtown are being asked to use Walford Road to access Regent Street.

Drivers who are coming from Ramsey Lake Road will be directed towards the Four Corners.

All lanes of Paris Street are now closed, say Greater Sudbury Police. Traffic is being rerouted down York Street.

"Please avoid the area and find an alternative route," police said in a tweet.

There's been a multi-vehicle collision on Paris Street midway between York Street and Ramsey Lake Road, Greater Sudbury Police tweeted shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Both lanes of Paris Street heading toward Health Sciences North are blocked due to the collision.

"If you can find an alternative route, please do so," police said.

The extent of injuries is unknown.
